Jennifer Carpenter, best known for her role as dirty-mouthed Deb Morgan on HBO's Dexter, will guest-star on an episode of The Good Wife, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Although Carpenter is famous for Deb's creative use of four-letter words, in The Good Wife she'll  play a soft-spoken university professor who is axed over her conservative religious and political beliefs, according to E! Online, which first reported the casting. Her character will hire Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and the firm's recent hire Caitlin (Anna Camp) to represent her in the lawsuit and go up against Louis J. Canning (returning guest Michael J. Fox).

Mega Buzz: A Glee showdown and a Dexter death

"We loved Jennifer in Dexter and we were especially thrilled to see her play such a different role: a committed believer who doesn't swear once," creators and executive producers Robert and Michelle King told the site.

The episode is scheduled to air at the end of the year.
Interesting to note: both shows air at the same time (9/8c) on Sunday nights, and CBS and Showtime are owned by the same parent company.
Carpenter, who plays Michael C. Hall's sister on the serial-killer drama, was married to the actor in 2008, though they recently separated.
