Jeff Bridges Takes on The Dude Comparisons on SNL

Jeff Bridges returned to host Saturday Night Live, noting it was the first time since 1983. Bridges, who received a SAG nomination for his performance in the latest Coen brothers movie, True Grit, used the monologue to poke fun at his role in an earlier Coen brothers film: The Dude, from The Big Lebowski.

Though Bridges denied any similarities, even the Cookie Monster from Sesame Streetjoined him on stage and called him The Dude. Bridges and the Cookie Monster — who had campaigned to host SNL and even had a Facebook campaign with more than 122,000 followers — sang "Silver Bells." 

Bill Hader reprised his role as Julian Assange, who congratulated Mark Zuckerberg for being Time's Person of the Year and compared Wikileaks and Facebook.

Bridges portrayed Nick Nolte in a Miley Cyrus sketch, in which she asked how he bounced back after his arrest. Last week, a video of Cyrus allegedly smoking salvia appeared online. "The moral of the story is: Don't let your friend videotape you while you're doing stuff," Cyrus (portrayed by Vanessa Bayer) said.

Andy Samberg came out with "I Just Had Sex," which featured Blake Lively and Jessica Alba. Warning: Slightly NSFW.

Despite airing his final episode Thursday, Larry King, played by Fred Armisen, returned to host a show full of "notable names," including Jermaine Jackson and Dog the Bounty Hunter, whom Bridges portrayed.

SNL tweaked the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life to This You Call a Wonderful Life? with a Hanukkah twist, where Bridges played a rabbi.

Bridges next played himself in a Punk'd-esque show called Jeff'd, pulling lame pranks on his past co-stars.

The episode closed with Abby Elliott, Nasim Pedrad and Bayer reprising their roles as the Kardashian sisters, sending out a special holiday message.
