Lone Star's James Wolk is heading to D.C.
The actor has joined USA's six-hour miniseries Political Animals, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Slated to premiere in the summer, Political Animals will focus on Elaine Barrish, a divorced former first lady and current secretary of state who struggles to keep her family together as she deals with the State Department's crises. She strikes an unlikely friendship with Susan Berg, a journalist who had spent her career tearing Elaine down.
USA gets political with Greg Berlanti miniseries
Wolk, who's currently appearing on Shameless and Happy Endings, will play Doug, one of Elaine's sons who is serving as her chief of staff.The project comes from Brothers & Sisters and Dirty Sexy Money producer Greg Berlanti. Berlanti wrote and will direct the pilot, as well as serve as an executive producer with Laurence Mark.
