The project, from first-time director and producer Lisa Vangellow, began filming in June 2013 and focuses on Franco's bizarre career in academia, art, film and Broadway. Franco's family and close friends will appear in the documentary, including Seth Rogen and Klaus Biesenbach, curator of New York's Museum of Modern Art.

Curtis Clayton, who is also working on Franco's upcoming film Bukowski, has signed on to edit the film.
