James Cromwell has joined Season 2 of American Horror Story, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Cromwell will play Dr. Arden, a foil to Jessica Lange's new character, who will be Arden's boss at a mental institution.
Adam Levine in final talks to make acting debut on American Horror Story
The Oscar and Emmy nominee joins Chloe Sevigny and Adam Levine as newcomers to the Season 2 cast, which will take place in a new location with new characters. Besides Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe are also returning in new roles.
Cromwell was most recently seen in The Artist. His TV credits include ER, Six Feet Under and 24.
