Hart of Dixie's Jaime King Welcomes a Son

Hart of Dixie star Jaime King and her husband, director Kyle Newman, welcomed their first child Sunday, People reports.

Son James Knight Newman weighed in at 7 pounds and 2 ounces. It looks like the little boy is taking his mother's name. King actually went by "James King" for her early acting and modeling career to avoid confusion with another Jaime at her agency. She has since reverted to her birth name. "Mom and baby are happy, healthy and doing great," King's rep told the magazine. Newman posted a picture of their new son's hands Sunday on Instagram.

The actress, 34, announced she and Newman were expecting in May. The couple married in November 2007 after meeting on the set of the movie Fanboys in 2005.

The new season of Hart of Dixie premieres Monday at 8/7c on The CW.
