Gina Choe, America's Next Top Model Gina Choe, America's Next Top Model

If a girl walks like a model and talks like a model, it stands to reason that she's a model, right? But what if a girl does neither? In that case, she's probably Gina Choe, the rightfully insecure, utterly inept catwalker run off America's Next Top Model last week. Everything from bitches to bugs wigged out the 21-year-old Floridian, so I can only assume that during her TVGuide.com Q&A preceding tonight's elimination (8 ET on UPN), there will be some histrionics. At least I hope so.

TVGuide.com: So, Gina, on a scale of 1 to 10 1 being a broken nail and 10 being a root canal how much did you hate being in the House of Top Model?
Gina Choe:
I'm not going to lie. I went into [the competition] being really naive compared to the other girls. They seemed so much more prepared than I was. I thought it was just going to be about modeling, and it wasn't. So I was really relieved to be eliminated.

TVGuide.com: That must piss people off.
Gina:
Yeah, I've had a lot of people who said, "Are you kidding me? We would love to be there! You don't deserve to be there!"

TVGuide.com: Certainly Kari, who was in the bottom two with you the week before you were cut, would have preferred that you quit rather than take the spot she very clearly wanted.
Gina:
Before the elimination, I felt so convinced that I was going home that I had already said goodbye to everyone, including Kari! So when I was chosen to stay, I was bummed for both Kari and myself. I felt guilty.

TVGuide.com: Do you think your whole experience might have been better if it hadn't been for... ahem, one particular person?
Gina:
[Laughs] Hmm. Yeah, I do. There was just so much negativity that came from [Jade]. I wasn't used to anyone being negative toward me, so it threw me off guard. I definitely let it impact me more than it should have.

TVGuide.com: I've heard that Jade may not be the only catty model in the industry. Knowing that, do you still want to pursue a modeling career?
Gina:
That's a good point. But having gotten a little taste of what it would be like, I think that, if anything, I would love to keep modeling.

TVGuide.com: Huh?
Gina:
It's something that not just anybody can do.

TVGuide.com: Really?
Gina:
So no matter how much negativity is out there, I learned to brush it off and that not everyone will like you, no matter how nice you are.

TVGuide.com: But you didn't brush it off. In fact, you barely told Jade off.
Gina:
The argument [between Jade and me] actually went on for a long time, but they didn't show all of it. I said all I needed to say. She shouldn't feel the need to point out everybody else's insecurities when she has insecurities of her own. She's always saying that she's the undiscovered supermodel and worth a million dollars. She's always having to reassure herself. If I had it to do over, I'd certainly tell her that.

TVGuide.com: I thought you said all you needed to say. Are you sure there isn't anything else you may have forgotten?
Gina:
I'm not going to say "I hate her" or "She's evil," but I wish that she would take a good look at herself before she points fingers.

TVGuide.com: Let's talk about something nicer... like the giant cockroach you had to wear during a challenge.
Gina:
Oh, great!

TVGuide.com: Was it embarrassing to see on air how badly you freaked out?
Gina:
So embarrassing! I don't even know why I freaked like that. Maybe it was because I wasn't prepared. I mean, we were all just standing there when the designer comes out and says, "Oh, we have another accessory." When he took out these things on little leashes, I thought, "Oh, I hope those aren't alive!" Then they started hissing. At that point, I thought, "I wish I had time to prepare for this, because I can't go through with it." And then, of course, the one I get has to be all crazy, going down my shirt.... It was freaky.

TVGuide.com: What was more disturbing: having a roach crawl on you or being told off by Janice Dickinson?
Gina:
Probably being told off by Janice. She's so outspoken, and I didn't know how to deal with that. It's fine for a woman to be opinionated, but she's just really, really, really, really outspoken. I wish that whole thing just never happened.

TVGuide.com: To make matters worse, she set you up by asking you to rat on Jade.
Gina:
Of course, Janice and Jade had to be getting along. Then they turned against me. I thought, "Great, I'm a target again!" And Janice is like Jade times 100! I didn't even see it coming.

TVGuide.com: Looking back, it seemed like you had a tough time walking and posing and... pretty much modeling in general. What would you say is your real strength as a model?
Gina:
I thought I did runway pretty well. I walk in heels really well, despite what you saw on television!
