Shelton, who's been friends with Petraeus for more than three decades, read from the letter during an appearance on Thursday's Good Morning America."Team Petraeus will survive, though," Petraeus wrote. "I have obviously created enormous difficulty for us."Though Petraeus' former spokesman Steve Boylan told Good Morning America that the retired CIA director's wife Holly is beyond furious, the letter told a different story.Petraeus told Shelton that his wife is "once again demonstrating how incredibly fortunate I was to marry her."Watch the full video below.
