Let The Hunger Gamesbegin!
Jennifer Lawrence has made the transformation into Katniss Everdeen, the Hunger Games heroine who she'll portray in the 2012 flick based on the acclaimed book series from Suzanne Collins.
Woody Harrelson to play Haymitch in Hunger Games
Entertainment Weeklyhas the first look at Lawrence's Katniss, who appears to be in the Hunger Games uniform, adorned with her Mockingjay pin. She's also carrying a set of bow and arrows, which she'll use in the vicious game that pits 24 tributes from the 12 districts in a fight to the death.
"I knew that as soon as I said yes, my life would change," Lawrence tells the magazine of accepting the role. "And I walked around an entire day thinking 'It's not too late, I could still go back and do indies, I haven't said yes yet, it's not too late.' I love this story and if I had said no, I would regret it every day."
Hunger Games completes tributes casting with Cato and Clove
Lawrence will star opposite Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth (Peeta and Gale, respectively), along with Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks and Paula Malcomson.
The Hunger Games will begin on March 23, 2012.
