Hulk Hogan Hulk Hogan

As a pro wrestler, Hulk Hogan was always great at talking smack. But he's getting a smackdown for saying ex-wife Linda Bollea helps him understand O.J. Simpson.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, sounded off in the new issue of Rolling Stone about his ex and the "shaggy-haired pool boy 30 years her junior" she is now dating. His frustration even led the former wrestler to compare his situation to O.J. Simpson's.

"I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like O.J., cutting everybody's throat," Hogan said. "You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater [Florida] and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife.... I totally understand O.J. I get it."

Simpson was tried and acquitted for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995. A civil jury found Simpson liable in the deaths two years later, and ordered him to pay $33.5 million to the Goldman family.

A rep for Hogan has since issued a mea culpa. "Hulk in no way condones the O.J. situation," a statement read. "As part of a larger conversation, he referred to it to exemplify his frustration with his own situation."

Goldman's sister, Kim, called Hogan's comments "disturbing" and "vile."

"It's sick to me that people throw around violence so whimsically," Goldman told Us.  "That has always bothered me.... It's vile to speak of anybody in that way and it's hurtful, demeaning and [has] so many layers of ugliness attached to it. I'm always very sensitive to people saying they would kill someone.

Linda Bollea also got in a slam of her own. "Hulk's serial cheating destroyed our marriage, our family and our future," she said in a statement. "Sadly, his recent comments remind us that his definition of fair is much different than what the law dictates."

Simpson can't be too happy with Hogan's remarks, either: the ex-footballer has always asserted his innocence.

Hogan appeared in court on April 9 to request that a judge prohibit Linda Bollea from allowing her boyfriend, Charlie Hill, to drive his cars and boat. Hogan cited Hill's history of traffic violations, and suggested that Hill could expose the Hogan family to liability.
