Howard Stern has signed a five-year contract to remain with Sirius XM, ending speculation that the shock jock might leave the station.

Stern announced the news on his show Thursday, but did not disclose the terms of the deal.

The host had been in negotiations for months, as his original deal was set to expire Dec. 31. Earlier this week, Sirius XM chief financial officer David Frear said Stern would most likely have to take a pay cut if he were to stay. Stern, in his typical colorful way, made it clear on his show Tuesday that he would not take a pay cut.
