We don't live in a post-apocalyptic society where money no longer exists and the only thing stopping you from taking whatever you want is how much you can carry. Watching free, illegal streams of TV shows is stealing. Fortunately, unlike on The Walking Dead, theft doesn't carry a death sentence, but copyright violation does cut into network revenues, which makes it harder for them to make the shows you watch. So if you wanna watch the second half of The Walking Dead Season 6 the right way, you gotta do the right thing, and you're gonna have to pay a little bit.

The good news is that there are plenty of ways to watch without a TV, even the same night the show airs, so that you're not left out Monday morning.

Amazon & iTunes
These are your best bets for easily watching The Walking Dead online. New episodes are usually uploaded to iTunes within a few hours after airtime and Amazon the morning after. If you buy a season pass, new episodes will be automatically added to your library. Amazon will even send you an email when it's ready. You can then watch them on any supported device, including your computer, iPad or Apple TV. A season pass in HD for Season 6 costs $42.99 on iTunes and $41.99 on Amazon. The best value is standard definition from Amazon, which will run you $26.99. SD on iTunes costs $30.99. This is perfect for people who watch for the story and don't need crystal-clear hi-def blood splatter.

AMC.com
The Walking Dead's network does the great service of streaming the episode at AMC.com/livestream at the same time it's broadcasting. The downside is that you need a cable provider login, which, yes, kind of defeats the purpose of cord-cutting. The episodes are also available to watch online right after the broadcast. Full episodes from the first part of Season 6 are available, too, if you need to catch up, but only for a few more days.

Really and truly, though, the best way to watch is to go to a friend with cable's house and have a viewing party. That way you can form the bonds you'll need to become a tight-knit band of survivors once the zombie apocalypse happens in real life.

The Walking Dead Season 6B starts Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9/8c on AMC
