A HORSE IS A HORSE...

Fox is raiding CBS's stable of hits to bring Mr. Ed back to the small screen. According to Variety, the network is developing an updated version of the classic talking horse comedy featuring a more "urban" voice behind Ed — i.e. Eddie Murphy or Eddie Griffin. Saturday Night Live scribe Jack Handey — the guy responsible for "Deep Thoughts" and Toonces the driving cat — is the creative force behind the remake. The original Mr. Ed ran on CBS from 1961 to 1966.
