HBO comedy Getting On has been renewed for a second season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The hospital comedy stars Laurie Metcalf, Alex Borstein and Niecy Nash, whose characters work in the geriatric wing of a beleaguered California hospital. The second season will consist of six episodes.
Getting On is one of the few freshman comedies to survive at HBO after the pay cable network canceled Hello Ladies and Family Tree in January. Based on the British comedy of the same name, the series is executive-produced by Big Love's Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer.
