HBO is bringing back Project Greenlight, the documentary series produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

The first two seasons of Project Greenlight, which follows a first-time director through the filmmaking process, aired on HBO in 2001 and 2003, and the third season aired on Bravo in 2005.

"Project Greenlight was ahead of its time," Affleck said in a statement. "Now that technology has caught up to the concept, we thought it was a perfect time to bring it back. A whole new generation of filmmakers has grown up sharing everything, and the next big director could be just an upload away."

The subject of Project Greenlight is chosen from candidates who enter a digital competition, and is tasked with delivering a feature film on schedule and on budget while facing all of the constraints an experienced director would from the movie studio and producers.
