HBO is reportedly in discussions with series creators Michael Patrick King and Kudrow about resurrecting the comedy for a second season nearly a decade after the show went off the air, Deadline.com reports.
The mockumentary-style comedy centered on a reality show about former sitcom star Valerie Cherish (Kudrow) as she tried to re-ignite her career. The series, which earned three Emmy nominations, was canceled in 2005 after one 13-episode season.
However, like other TV series recently brought back to life on different mediums — Arrested Development and Veronica Mars — The Comeback gained more praise and traction after it went off the air. Kudrow currently stars on the Showtime comedy Web Therapy, for which she also writes, and King is an executive producer on CBS' 2 Broke Girls. Both shows have been renewed for new seasons.
