The story isn't quite over for Hatfields & McCoys.

Seven months after the History Channel miniseries concluded,  NBC has ordered a modern-day version of the historical western story to pilot.

Set in Pittsburgh, the story picks up when a shocking death reignites the feud between the blue collar McCoys and the affluent and powerful Hatfields. Suddenly, decades of resentment is unleashed as the two famous families go to war for control of the city. The project was penned by Eagle Eye scribe John Glenn, who will also executive-produce.

History Channel's Hatfields & McCoys, which premiered last May, was a commercial and critical smash. The miniseries averaged a record-breaking 13.8 million viewers over three nights, and earned Kevin Costner an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild award for his portrayal of "Devil" Anse Hatfield.
