Grey's Anatomy Scoop: Seattle Grace Is Sent Into Chaos as a Buyer Circles

Jesse Williams and Justin Chambers

With Seattle Grace thisclose to closing its doors, Dr. Cahill will be trying new ways to spruce up the joint in Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy (9/8c on ABC), which sees a potential buyer, a group called Pegasus, tour the hospital. One of those improvements — besides closing the ER — includes marketing the hospital with the face of one of its own doctors.

Mega Buzz: Who's leaving Seattle Grace?!

Naturally, two of Seattle Grace's McHotties, Jackson (Jesse Williams) and Alex (Justin Chambers), will be first in line for that coveted position. "Jackson and Alex have become drinking buddies and have started hanging out, and they find themselves in a competition for being the face of the hospital," Williams says. "I don't know that either of them really want it, they're just really competitive."

However, Thursday's episode won't be all bright and shiny fun. With the ER now closed, April (Sarah Drew) will face a difficult decision while on a ride-along with paramedic Matt (Justin Bruening). Knowing it could mean her job, she decides to bring in a young patient who may have died otherwise. "Jackson has to take a life in his own hands ... to treat this kid that comes in based on April's call," Williams says. "It is meaningful that it's April that called him and didn't call anyone else because she could trust he would keep it confidential, but also make a good decision. He puts himself and his job at risk in doing that."

Grey's Anatomy Exclusive: Chandra Wilson to direct again!

This, of course, is happening in secret while Dr. Cahill (Constance Zimmer) is showing around the members representing Pegasus, whom Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is keeping distracted and well away from the closed ER. In going against Cahill's wishes, the hospital is thrown into disarray.

"It turns into a hectic episode because the hospital is lost in terms of leadership. What are the rules, and who's really the boss?" Williams says. "Do we follow Cahill, who's in here cutting things up and destroying our ER? Or who we always follow, which is our Chief [Kevin McKidd]? And we have to make real decisions."

Amidst the life or death drama going on in the ER, Jackson will discover that April is actually dating this paramedic that she essentially risked her career to help. "This is where the seed is planted that, 'Oh sh--, I'm not the only one who's moving on,'" he says. "And she's moving on in a more worrisome way because it's not just sex. She's actually starting a relationship."

Grey's Anatomy: Will the plane crash survivors save Seattle Grace?

Williams notes that Jackson will initially be jealous, but it will also cause him to look at why their relationship didn't work and whether he's ready to settle down himself. How will that affect his fling with intern Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton)?  "It might cause a reactionary sexual romp, but otherwise, it keeps a wedge between the two of them, to be honest," Williams says.

Are you excited for April to get a new love interest? Or are you rooting for April and Jackson?
