Great Scott! Housewives Nabs Heist Star! Plus: Gilmore

I just landed in Los Angeles a few hours ago and you're never going to believe what greeted me upon my arrival (aside from sweltering 145-degree temps): Major-ass prattle poop!Although ABC isn't confirming, I got a tip that Scottish actor Dougray Scott — most recently the star of NBC's short-lived Heist — is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives this fall as a love interest for Teri Hatcher's Susan. This would be really exciting if Susan weren't such an annoying spaz. In other pre-press tour scoopage, I hear Dave Rosenthal has turned in a first draft of the Gilmore Girls season premiere and, according to those who have read it, it's "excellent." I'm trying to get my grubby little hands on it so I can judge for myself, but I can tell you that the episode is called "The Long Morrow" and there's a subplot involving Paris starting up an SAT prep class. Don't forget, Rosenthal will be at CW's press tour Monday along with Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, so get those question...

Speaking of questions, I'm gonna toss a quick one out to you guys before I go meet some friends for dinner in Los Feliz (look at me, name-dropping trendy L.A. nabes). I'm thinking of escaping press tour one day next weekend to make my first-ever appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego. What do you guys think? Will any of you be there? Maybe we could do a tailgate party or something. At the very least, we could meet up at the Smurf table and say a quick hello. (There will be a Smurf table, right?) Let me know what you think.
In the meantime, if you see someone who looks like me driving on the Hollywood Fwy tonight, roll down your window, honk your horn and wave - 'cause there's a really good chance it's me! (I'd tell you the make/model, but I'm really bad with cars. It's black and shiny, that much I know.)
