Watch Carly Rae Jepsen and Kether Donohue Adorably Try Out the "Frenchy Voice" for Grease: Live

How do we become their best friend?

Fox's upcoming live production of Grease is putting its own spin on the classic film, which means everything is up in the air, including the delightfully squeaky - and completely iconic - Frenchy voice.

"I remember asking early on, 'Should Frenchy have that iconic Frenchy voice?'" Carly Rae Jepsen recalls in the video above. But since Didi Conn, who originated the role of Frenchy in the 1978 film, will be appearing in Grease: Live, "it would be kind of strange to have two of those," Jepsen notes.

However, that doesn't mean you absolutely won't hear the Frenchy voice on Grease: Live. "It's weird though, because in rehearsal when I do Jan, sometimes I feel like I sound like original Frenchy," Kether Donohue adds. "I'm like, 'Wait. I'm not Frenchy. I'm Jan. But Jan sounds like Frenchy."

Watch Jepsen and Donohue discuss the odd way their roles overlap and do their best Frenchy voices in the video above.

Grease: Live airs Sunday at 7/6c on Fox.
