A first-look photo from the upcoming drama was released Thursday, featuring Donal Logue as Gordon's mentor Harvey Bullock. It's one of a series of character reveals that will be made across various social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.
The pilot, which has a series commitment at Fox, explores the origin stories of Detective James Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie) and his battle with the villains who made the city famous before Gordon becomes Gotham's commissioner and Batman's ally.

The drama also stars David Mazouz as a young Bruce Wayne, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as the Penguin, who works under gangster Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), Erin Richards as Gordon's fiancée Barbara Keen, Camren Bicondova as a young Selina Kyle, and Zabryna Guevara as Gordon's boss, Captain Essen.
Mentalist creator Bruno Heller will write and executive-produce Gotham with Nikita's Danny Cannon.
