Don't adjust your screens if Selina Kyle looks a little different during this week's series finale of Gotham.

Actress Camren Bicondova has confirmed that her last appearance in the show took place during last week's episode of Fox's DC-centric series.

In a statement posted to Twitter, Bicondova confirmed that the Season 5's second-to-last episode, which aired on April 18, was her final appearance as Selina, writing, "It's important to me that I'm the one to tell you this because it was a choice that I made [...] I wanted to give (the character) Selina Kyle as much respect as possible. Some will say that giving her respect would include seeing the character through the end of the show, which I understand. But, I firmly believe that part of leaving a legacy and being part of a legacy means knowing when to pass the torch to someone else."

"I was blessed to be the vessel for Selina Kyle for her formative teen years, and it only felt right to give someone else that torch for her adult self," Bicondova added.

The final episode will journey ahead to 10 years after the events of the penultimate episode, with Bruce (David Mazouz) returning to his eponymous hometown as the Dark Knight.

Taking over the role of Selina Kyle for the series finale will be Lili Simmons, whom Bicondova said made her "cry tears of joy" because of her fitness for the role and enthusiasm for the role.

"Playing Selina Kyle has taught me so much about myself and what it really means to stand firm and win life," Bicondova added as a token of thanks to fans of the show. "Thank you all for trusting me with her fragile indominitability, her witty comebacks, her ardent fight scenes, and her tasteful style."

A first glimpse at Simmons taking over the role has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly.

The Gotham series finale airs on April 25 at 8/7c on Fox.
