Barry Watson, who played eldest son Matt Camden on the long-running family drama 7th Heaven, is joining Gossip Girl for the show's final season, TVLine reports.

Watson's character, a young entrepreneur named Steven Spence, will serve as a love interest for troubled Upper West Side It Girl Serena (Blake Lively). Steven's introduction comes after "S" spent much of Season 5 pining over Lonely Boy, aka Dan (Penn Badgley), despite the fact that he was so clearly in love with "B" (Leighton Meester).

The final season of Gossip Girl premieres on Monday, Oct. 8 at 9/8c on The CW.
