The Good Wife's Julianna Margulies: Alicia and Cary Are Not the New Will and Diane

How will The Good Wife's Alicia and Cary succeed as firm partners? Not so well, star Julianna Margulies says. On the season finale of the CBS drama, Alicia (Margulies) made the bold — and risky — decision to leave Lockhart/Gardner to help launch a new firm with her colleague Cary (Matt Czuchry). "I think the biggest thing [will be] watching [Alicia] realize that her and Cary are not Will (Josh Charles) and Diane (Christine Baranski)," Margulies tells TVGuide.com in the video below. "The uphill battle will constantly be, 'Did I make a mistake?'"

Along with the regret Alicia might face, Margulies adds that her actions could also cause a huge rift with her former bosses.

"There's going to be a lot of tension and a lot of friction and a lot of heartbreak," Margulies says. "Diane and Will will end up feeling, when they find out, like she stabbed them in the back. And she did."
