Glee: The Ballad of Marley Rose and Burning Questions for What's Next

[Spoiler alert: This story reveals major plot points from Thursday's episode of Glee. Do not read any further.]

"I'm so excited. I'm so.... scared." The final moments of Glee's big sectionals episode on Thursday had visions of Jessie Spano's infamous Saved by the Bell caffeine-pill-fueled meltdown dancing around in our heads. Unfortunately, this time there was no Zach Morris to save Marley from going out on stage and — once again, spoiler alert! — passing out in the middle of the New Directions' big Sectionals performance.

Her sudden moment of complete physical weakness came following weeks of sabotage by Kitty, who masterfully convinced the skinny Marley that she needed to shed pounds via bulimia and laxatives. If there were any true Gleeks who believed that Kitty could be redeemed — as our essay asked Wednesday — they were likely silenced the minute poor Marley hit the floor in the middle of the otherwise-joyous "Gangnam Style." While it was nice to have the Class of 2012 back roaming the halls, Santana should have been following her psychic Mexican third eye to sniff out Kitty's scheme instead of giving Quinn crap over her oh-so-cliché affair with her professor.

Aside from the Kitty dilemma, there are many bigger questions to ask on Glee. What happens to New Directions if they don't win sectionals? Will Sue finally achieve her dream of getting rid of the glee club? And, even if they stay together, what will they be working towards the rest of the year with no possibility of Nationals or Regionals down the line? And is Kitty going to be automatically booted from the glee club she never really wanted to be in anyway, or is she going to get some totally undeserved second chance?

Also, what does the Marley debacle say about Finn, who had no idea what was going on with Marley despite working with her on the Grease production and in glee club? If teaching isn't his calling, what the heck is he supposed to do now?

The biggest question has been saved for last: We love the whole "Kurchel Takes New York" story line, but what the heck was that "Kiki" number?
