Idina Menzel Returning to Glee

It looks like Glee's Rachel Berry may be getting some extra support right when she needs it most!

Idina Menzel, who plays Rachel's biological mother Shelby, is returning to the Fox musical later this season, Lea Michele revealed on Twitter Tuesday. "I spy Idina Menzel at Glee today! So excited to have my mama back," she wrote.

It's not yet known why — or where — Shelby will be popping up. She could pay a visit to New York City to give the very misguided (and possibly preggo) Rachel some much needed words of wisdom. Or maybe she'll be coaching one of the glee clubs going up against New Directions at regionals? We wouldn't even put it past Shelby to come back to Lima looking for Puck (Mark Salling). After all, the McKinley High grad did recently return to Ohio and made no secret of a his huge crush on Shelby when she coached the Troubletones in Season 3.

No matter what, fingers crossed that she gets to sing!
