The cast and crew of Glee gathered Thursday for a private memorial to celebrate Cory Monteith's life.

"Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith," 20th Century Fox Television said in a statement. "We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time."

Remembering Cory Monteith: What Finn Hudson meant to Glee

Monteith was found dead on July 13 in a hotel in downtown Vancouver, Canada, at the age of 31. Monteith, who died from a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol, had voluntarily admitted himself in a treatment facility for substance addiction in March. He had previously entered rehab for drug abuse when he was 19.

Fox announced last week that production on Glee has been delayed in the wake of Monteith's death. The musical comedy will return on Thursday, Sept. 26 instead of Thursday, Sept. 19, because production will not start on the new season until early August. The upcoming season will then feature an episode that will deal with the death of Finn, which will be followed by a long hiatus.
