Fox Earns GLAAD's First "Excellent" Rating for LGBT Representation on Broadcast TV

Thanks to LGBT characters and plotlines on shows like Empire, Gleeand Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fox has earned an "Excellent" rating from GLAAD for representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters in original programming, according to GLAAD's 2015 Network Responsibility Index. It's the first time in the report's nine-year history that an Excellent rating has been handed out to a broadcast network.

This will be the final year that GLAAD will issue the report, the organization announced.

GLAAD also commended ABC Family, which received an Excellent rating for the third year in a row for shows like The Fostersand the new reality series Becoming Us.

On the other end of the scale were A&E and History, which both received "Failing" grades.

ABC, CW, FX, HBO, MTV and Showtime all earned "Good" grades, while CBS, NBC, TLC, TNT and USA received a score of "Adequate."
