Kurt Sutter has officially moved on from Sons of Anarchy, and the first peeks at his new series, The Bastard Executioner have arrived.

The show, set in the Late Middle Ages (roughly 1300-1500 AD) follows a warrior knight (Lee Jones) loyal to King Edward I, who wants to leave bloodshed behind after all of his battles. Naturally, violence finds him again and he's left with no choice but to raise "the bloodiest sword of all."

Take a look at two teasers, appropriately titled "Kneel" and "Scythe," which give us just a hint of the action and emotion to come, and the trailer, which definitely promises some bloody swordplay.

Sons star Katey Sagal (also Sutter's wife), and True Blood's Stephen Moyer are also set to star.
