George Zimmerman's Wife Files for Divorce

George Zimmerman's wife Shellie has filed for divorce, ABC News reports.

Shellie, 26, stayed with her husband of six years while he stood trial for fatally shooting Trayvon Martin in February 2012. George, 29, was acquitted of murder on July 14.

In August, Shellie told ABC News that she was unsure about their future as a couple. Prior to the interview, Shellie had recently pleaded guilty to perjury after lying to a judge about their finances during George's bond hearing. Though she supported him in court throughout his trial, Shellie said she felt "very much alone" when he did not stand up for her in court.

Shellie also revealed that she and George had gotten into a fight the night before Martin was killed and was staying somewhere else on Feb. 26, when George shot the unarmed 17-year-old.
