Will Game of Thrones be coming to the big screen?
Author George R.R. Martin tells The Hollywood Reporter he's considering turning the HBO series into one or more films, noting that the scope of later books may exceed the parameters provided by television.

"It all depends on how long the main series runs," Martin told THR at the Season 4 premiere this week. "Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger. It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."
Martin is also mulling turning his novella series Tales of Dunk and Egg into a feature film. The three stories act as a Game of Thrones prequel of sorts, and their characters are ancestors of some GoT characters.
