We don't know the day, but we know the month: Game of Thrones' eighth and final season is coming in April 2019, HBO announced Tuesday.

The show's official Twitter account posted a clip compilation running down some of the show's greatest hits, like the Battle of the Blackwater, the Red Wedding, the Purple Wedding and Hardhome, before concluding with the reveal that Season 8 would premiere in April. HBO likes to build anticipation through releasing specific details very slowly.

Game of Thrones' final season will consist of six supersized episodes with a greater level of attention to detail than ever before "It's relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot," Jon Snow portrayer Kit Harington told EW. "They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options." Here's everything else we know about Season 8 so far.

And after it ends, it'll be getting a prequel series -- working title The Long Night -- whose cast so far includes Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will premiere April 7, 14, 21 or 28 on HBO.
