Fringe's Seth Gabel Cast as Arrow Villain Vertigo

Seth Gabel is venturing from the other universe to Starling City.

The Fringealum has been cast on Arrow as Vertigo, the CW drama's Season 1 villain, TVGuide.com has confirmed. In the DC Comics, Count Vertigo is a supervillain who had the power to disrupt his enemies' balance.

As first reported by TVLine.com, the character's name won't actually be Vertigo, and he will be grounded more in reality, similar to the Royal Flush Gang and other DC characters who will be on the show. However, a deadly drug that plagues Starling City in his first episode, slated to air in early 2013, will be called Vertigo.

Gabel, who previously worked with Arrow executive producer Greg Berlanti on Dirty Sexy Money, is best-known for playing Lincoln Lee on Fox's Fringe.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
