Fox is continuing its anglophilic development tendencies with a remake of the BBC's Luther, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The original drama starred Idris Elba as John Luther, a detective whose devotion to cases borders on obsession, and The Affair's Ruth Wilson as murderer Alice Morgan, who becomes Luther's confidant. Though Elba is not slated to star in the Luther reboot, he's serving as an executive producer along with Luther creator Neil Cross, who will write the pilot. The project will be a one-hour drama and was given a put-pilot commitment.

What are the best and worst TV reboots?

This fall saw the launch of Gracepoint, based on the British hit Broadchurch, on Fox, but the show has struggled in the ratings.

Elba received three Emmy nominations and won a Golden Globe in 2011 for his performance on the show.
