Lucifer Lucifer

Is this Fox's backup plan in case Gotham fails?

The network has given a put pilot commitment to DC Comics property Lucifer, reports Variety.

Written by Californication creator Tom Kapinos and adapted from the Vertigo comic of the same name, the project centers on Lucifer (obviously), who gets bored with his role as the Lord of Hell. After resigning the throne (you can do that?), he heads to the only place on Earth suitable for the former king of the underworld: Los Angeles.

Once settled in the City of Angels (yeah, we caught that), he opens an exclusive piano bar — you know, as one does.

DC Comics currently has five series on or on the way to the airwaves, including GothamArrowThe FlashConstantine, and the midseason drama iZombie
