A soldier killed at least three people before turning the gun on himself at Fort Hood Army base on Wednesday, according to NBC News.
At least 14 others were wounded when Ivan Lopez, 34, reportedly opened fire at 4:30 p.m. after an alleged dispute at the motor pool.
The shooting comes less than five years after another gunman opened fire on the base, killing 13 and wounding more than thirty others.
"We're heartbroken that something like this might have happened again," President Obama said in a statement, according to NBC News. "And I don't what to comment on the facts until I know exactly what has happened. But just for now I would hope that everyone across the country is keeping the families and the community of Fort Hood in our thoughts and our prayers."
