Paul Lee, president of ABC Family, announced Thursday that he had ordered up 13 more episodes of
The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
The breakout teen-pregnancy hit - it's like
Juno on TV with Molly Ringwald as the mom - was created and is executive-produced by Brenda Hampton (
7th Heaven). The show debuted on July 1, breaking a record for the netlet as its most-watched original series premiere.
Secret Life will run on Tuesday nights through September; 12 of the 13 added eps, technically the second half of the first season, will air beginning in January 2009.
In other ABC Family good news,
Greek will return on August 26. -
