Al Gore has purchased the 24-hour Newsworld International channel from Vivendi Universal Entertainment. The former VP says he plans to turn it into a cable news network for young adults. "This is not going to be a liberal network, a Democratic network or a political network," Gore said at a news conference. "[It'll be] an independent voice in this industry." Rumored first guests include Barbra Streisand, Michael Moore and Janeane Garofalo.
