Move over, Honey Boo Boo: TLC's Extreme Cheapskates are coming to TV starting Tuesday, October 16 at 10/9c. The show, which highlights penny pinchers who cut costs in unusual ways — from dumpster diving to reusing dental floss — first aired as a special last December, attracting 1.6 million viewers.

Now, viewers are about to meet nine thrifty people who go beyond the call of duty to live life as cheap as possible:

Kay, from New York, finds treasures in the dumpster, eats discarded food from fancy restaurants and washes her clothes as she showers.

Terence, from Oakland, won't buy furniture and searches for loose change.

Greg, from Cincinnati, flushes his toilet just once a week and reuses plastic utensils.

Victoria, from Columbus, Ohio, uses personalized urine jars in lieu of flushing the toilet.

Roy, from Huntington, Vt., makes his own household cleaning supplies.

Ben, from Austin, Texas, washes his clothes in his dishwasher and makes his own toothpaste.

Jeff, from Accokeek, Md., runs a "cheapskate boot camp."

Vickie, from Ashton, Idaho, hunts for road kill.

Abdul, from Sioux Falls, S.D., is a pro haggler.

TLC ordered six half-hour episodes of Extreme Cheapskates. Here's a first look:
