Eva Longoria has booked her first TV series since Desperate Housewives went off the air last May.

The actress will star in Mother Up — a new half-hour animated comedy set to debut on Hulu and Canada's City Television this fall, Ad Age reports.

Stars who deserve a late-night talk show

Longoria, 38, will voice the main character, Rudi Wilson, a disgraced former record executive who moves to the suburbs to try her hand at motherhood — with mixed results. Mother Up will spotlight Rudi's hard-partying lifestyles in the 'burbs, including her frequent drinking and swearing.

Since exiting Wisteria Lane almost a year ago, Longoria has kept plenty busy but primarily with behind-the-scenes gigs. She serves as an executive producer on NBC's new dating show, Ready for Love, as well as Lifetime's upcoming drama Devious Maids, which was created by Housewives mastermind Marc Cherry. Longoria will also executive-produce Mother Up, along with Sony Pictures Chief Yair Landau and Family Guy co-producer Michael Shipley.

Landau said there are also plans to sell Mother Up to outlets such as iTunes and Netflix.
