Emmy season is in full swing! Voters will be checking off names and shows this week they think are worthy of getting a nomination come July 19. We at TVGuide.com have a few selections in mind ourselves. Next up: our dream ballot for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.Peter Dinklage, Game of ThronesIs any character more entertaining to watch than Tyrion? Devilishly shrewd and charming, The Imp took charge in Season 2 and crackles in every scene he's in. Dinklage is also on an awards roll, having won the Emmy last year and the Golden Globe in January.
Giancarlo Esposito, Breaking Bad
Who would've thought when Gus debuted as an ostensible foil to Walt in Season 2 that he would eventually become one of the greatest TV villains of all time? Quietly ruthless and calculating, Esposito's mild-mannered meth kingpin was simultaneously bone-chilling and sympathetic that we mourned — not cheered — his death. A nod is a no-brainer, or in Gus' case, a half-brainer.
Vincent Kartheiser, Mad Men
While his fellow original castmates rack up Emmy nods year after year, Kartheiser has cruelly been overlooked. Yes, Pete is self-absorbed, sleazy and pompous. He had an affair and planted the seeds for Joan's self-prostitution this year. But no matter how irritating this insatiable alpha wannabe gets, we can't turn away — a testament to the captivating intensity Kartheiser brings to the table. Lane gave Pete what he deserved — a punch to the face — so why don't we finally give Kartheiser what he deserves: a nomination.
