Emmylou Harris Charged with Hit-and-Run

Grammy-winning folk singer Emmylou Harris has been charged with a hit-and-run in Los Angeles, The Associated Press reports.

Prosecutors say Harris, 65, hit another vehicle on a freeway last October and failed to exchange information with the driver, according to the report. A rep for the singer told TMZ that incident was a "garden-variety accident that happens every day on the 405." The rep also said Harris drove away because she didn't realize any contact was made. "She unintentionally rubbed bumpers with another vehicle," the rep told TMZ.

If convicted, Harris could face as much as six months in jail. Harris is releasing an album of duets in February and has tour dates scheduled through June.
