Elementary fans are in for a change of scenery as the CBS series heads across the pond for its second season premiere.
The Sherlock Holmes drama will film its Season 2 premiere in London, marking the first time the series has shot on location outside of New York, CBS announced Thursday.
The second season premiere will see Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) called to London to revisit an old case and, while doing so, is forced to face his past. Meanwhile, Watson (Lucy Liu) will learn more about Holmes' mysterious life and the company he kept before he came to New York.
"We couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity to see Sherlock's old stomping grounds and take a closer look at a life that, until now, we've only been able to glimpse through the lens of his recovery," executive producer Robert Doherty says. "By meeting old friends and revisiting prior cases, Watson will gain even more insight into Holmes. She'll have to keep up with a Sherlock who is both more comfortable in his surroundings and even bolder in testing the limits of those around him."
Elementary, which will air its penultimate episode on Thursday night, will cap off its first season by pitting Sherlock against his famed foe Moriarty, who may be operating out of New York. The final episodes will also feature Natalie Dormer as Irene Adler, Sherlock's one and only love.
Elementary airs Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS.
