Tiger Woods is still in the game with one of his sponsors: Electronic Arts Inc. said it will stand by the golfer in light of his extramarital affairs.
"By his own admission, he's made some mistakes off the course. But regardless of what's happening in his personal life, and regardless of his decision to take a personal leave from the sport, Tiger Woods is still one of the greatest athletes in history," EA Sports President Peter Moore wrote in a blog post.

Tiger Woods loses first sponsorship

EA plans to move forward with this month's beta launch of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online, a web-based game Moore describes as "innovative" and a "breakthrough experience." The game had been tested with more than 75,000 players over the last eight months, Moore said. Moore said EA's relationship with Woods was based on the star's golfing prowess.

AT&T ends Tiger Woods sponsorship

"Our relationship with Tiger has always been rooted in golf. We didn't form a relationship with him so that he could act as an arm's length endorser. Far from it," Moore said. "We chose to partner with Tiger in 1997 because we saw him as the world's best, most talented and exciting golfer. We struck that partnership with the assumption that he would remain near or at the top of his sport for years to come."The gaming giant, however, declined to comment on whether Woods' off-course indiscretions would affect plans for a new edition of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour video game, the Associated Press reports. The new installment was scheduled for a summer release.
