E! Online's Twitter account was hacked on Saturday.
"Eonline's breaking news Twitter and SMS accounts were compromised today," E! said in a statement. "We're working to have this resolved as quickly as possible and are fully investigating the incident. We apologize for any confusion that the erroneous news alerts may have caused."
The feed tweeted out various fake stories around 1 p.m. ET before the issue was noticed and the account was suspended. According to a screengrab by Mashable, the stories included Justin Bieber coming out as gay and Angelina Jolie admitting "that Jordan is to blame for the Syrian refugees' atrocious conditions."
The Syrian Electronic Army, which was also responsible for hacking the Twitter accounts of The Associated Press, 60 Minutes and 48 Hours in April, claimed responsibility.
