They started on Degrassi, now they're here.

Drake reunited with his former Degrassi co-star Nina Dobrev during Sunday's American Music Awards. While Drake was accepting the award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, which Dobrev presented to him, he took a moment to acknowledge how far he and Dobrev have come since their days at Degrassi Community School.

"Me and Nina were on Degrassi together, by the way," Drake said. "We've come a long way, you know? Congratulations on all your success."

Although both Drake and Dobrev got their starts on the Canadian teen drama, their characters were like two very beautiful ships passing in the night. For the first seven seasons, Drake starred as Jimmy Brooks, a former athlete who discovers his musical talent after becoming partially paralyzed following a school shooting. Dobrev only joined Degrassi as a recurring character in its sixth season as Mia Jones, a teen who juggles her budding modeling career with the responsibilities of raising her young daughter. The actress wasn't bumped up to a series regular position until the seventh season, which was Drake's final year on the long-running show.

Nevertheless, it appears as though Drake has never quite forgotten this underclassman. New ship alert?
