Downton Abbey Rolls Out New Merchandise

Would you care for a glass of Downton Abbey red wine? What about some Dowager Countess body lotion?

Downton Abbey is rolling out new lines of quirky merchandise tied into its Season 4 premiere in the U.K., including new board games, beauty products and clothing, The Associated Press reports.

The British department store chain Marks & Spencer will begin carryingDownton Abbey-themed beauty products this fall, including soap, nail polish, lip gloss, lotion and scented candles, according to the AP. Some of the products will feature quotes from characters on the show, including the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith).

The London paint company Mylands has also been promoting two Downtoncolors, "Amber Gray" and "Empire Gray," modeled on the interiors of the downstairs kitchen and the butler's pantry.

In the United States and Canada, the show has partnered with Danbury Mint and Kurt Adler to release a line of jewelry as well as Christmas ornaments later this year. The Bradford Exchange is also reportedly considering manufacturing Downton dolls, and the company Wines that Rock is set to debut a Downton red varietal.
