Those listening closely to the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live noticed a big omission from the NBC late-night telecast — announcer Don Pardo!

The announcer, who has been with the show since its inception in 1975, missed Saturday's show after recently suffering a broken hip, TMZ reports. Sources tell the site that Pardo, 95, is doing fine in his recovery.

After missing just one season (1981-1982), Pardo originally retired in 2004. However, NBC convinced him come back and he has been re-recording his parts from home in Arizona in recent years. He also used to announce for The Price is Right, Jeopardy! and the NBC Nightly News.

It is unknown how long Pardo will be out from the show. Saturday Night Live's next new episode, featuring Justin Timberlake as both host and musical guest, airs Saturday, March 9.
