It's the beginning of the end for Amy and Rory.
BBC America announced Doctor Who's seventh season will return Sept. 1 for five blockbuster episodes.
Featuring everything from dinosaurs on a spaceship to a cyborg gunslinger, Amy and Rory's final episodes will surely be memorable. But when Doctor Who returns, the Doctor will face his most famous adversary: the Daleks.

In "Asylum of the Daleks," the gang will come face-to-face will every generation of Daleks from the series' five-decade history — and Matt Smith promises this will be no easy battle. "We have made the Daleks scary again," Smith explains, "something I am not sure we got right before."But there will also be unfamiliar faces fighting the Doctor this year. "Wait till you see what's invading Earth in episode 4," head writer and executive producer Steven Moffat teased. "There's never been an extraterrestrial incursion like this one!!"

While there seem to be a lot of exciting things to look forward to this season, there is one dark cloud hanging over the five upcoming episodes: the departure of Amy and Rory. "This, more than any other, is the year of the Ponds," Moffat promises. "But yes, it's true, I cannot lie," he adds, "somewhere out there, the Weeping Angels are waiting for them..."The Ponds' exit also marks the first change of companions for Smith. While he's sad to see his co-stars go, the actor recognizes that that "is what the show is about, evolution and regeneration."
