NBC Axes Do No Harm

Steven Pasquale

After only two airings, NBC has yanked struggling new series Do No Harm from the air, TVGuide.com has learned.

The Jekyll and Hyde-esque drama, starring Steven Pasquale playing a man with a split personality, bombed in its debut with only 3.1 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was less than the 1.0 average Rock Center with Brian Williams was delivering this season and down 55 percent from what the similarly themed Awake bowed to in the same Thursday at 10/9c timeslot last year. In its second outing, the ratings dropped 22 percent to 2.2 million viewers and a 0.7.

Do No Harm matches CBS' Made in Jersey as being the fastest dramas canceled in the 2012-2013 TV season, although the remainder of Jersey's eight episodes already shot were burned off on Saturdays in late 2012.

In the meantime, NBC will air encore broadcasts of Law & Order: SVU episodes "Friending Emily" and "Dreams Deferred" to replace Do No Harm.

Are you surprised Do No Harm was canceled so quickly?
